ACHC and Lisu Youth Jointly Held “Electricity and Minority Area Development” Themed Salon



On December 14, the leader and youth representatives of Lisu ethnic group and Upstream Ayeyawady Confluence Basin Hydropower Co., Ltd. (ACHC) had a discussion on “Electricity and Minority Area Development” and envisioned the future of Kachin State at Lisu Central Cultural Square, Myitkyina. More than 100 Lisu people attended the activity.

During the exchange, the leader and youth representatives of Lisu ethnic group expressed their views on promoting their ethnic and regional development with electricity.U Kwar Zar  Khin, Chairman of Lisu Youth Committee pointed out that, due to the slow social development in Myanmar, the public cognitive level and international vision are limited. However, the Lisu people know that sufficient electricity is indispensable to the development of the ethnic group and the region. Electricity is the foundation of the development in minority areas. He hoped that ACHC could enhance publicity of electricity in Kachin State and organize the visit and learning in Chipwi Nge HPP for the youth. He also hoped that ACHC can help Kachin State with the Chinese training class, improve the public cognition of electricity and promote the development of the ethnic group and the region.

Myanmar employees of Lisu, Rawang and other ethnic groups in ACHC shared their knowledge of electricity and feelings of working and living in the company with the participants and their sharing was unanimously recognized by the latter. ACHC was highly commended by the participants because of its scientific management philosophy, public welfare behaviors and caring about the employees.

        After the meeting, ACHC and the leader and youth of Lisu ethnic group had a Christmas bonfire party and danced traditional Lisu dances around the bonfire.
