Skills Training for Reinforced Concrete Workers from Resettlement Villages of Myitsone Hydropower Project Official Opening of Classes


On October 23, the skills training for reinforced concrete workers from the resettlement villages of Myitsone Hydropower Project was successfully held in the Aung Myin Thar Resettlement Village. Total 41 project affected persons (PAPs) from two resettlement villages participated in the training.

With the support of the Government of Kachin State, Myitkyina Advanced Technical Vocational School transfers first-class lecturers to the Aung Myin Thar Resettlement Village for on-the-spot teaching and passing on skills to the villagers. They develop a 20-day skills training plan for the PAPs and innovate in the teaching mode.

At the opening ceremony, the staff of Kachin State Representative Office of ACHC said that the workers should cherish learning opportunities, observe classroom discipline, learn modestly, communicate with and help promote each other, master skills and knowledge, improve awareness of safety and HSE-compliant construction, expand employment opportunities and create wealth for families.

The series of training classes held this year are specific measures taken by ACHC to improve the employability of the resettlement villages, helping villagers to enhance their skills and broaden the channel to obtain income.
