ACHC Awards "ACHC Scholarship" to Outstanding Teachers and Students in the Resettlement Villages of Myitsone Hydropower Project

 

On October 26 and 29, the awarding ceremonies of the "ACHC Scholarship" for the 2018-2019 academic year were held respectively at the high school in Aung Myin Thar Resettlement Village and the elementary school in Maliyan Resettlement Village.

During the ceremonies, 123 outstanding teachers and students from four schools in two resettlement villages were awarded MMK 5 million as scholarship. The activity was highly praised by the local government and the public. In their speeches, the deputy director of Kachin State Education Department, the director of Education Department in Waingmaw Township and the village heads of resettlement villages expressed their gratitude to SPIC for its long-term help in the development of education in resettlement villages, encouraged students to study hard, and called for parents to attach importance to education, help their children become well educated as soon as possible and contribute to the development of the country and society.

The main leaders of Kachin State Representative Office of ACHC, Kachin State Education Department, Myitkyina Municipal Government and some parents of award-winning students attended the awarding ceremony.
