Skill Training Conducted in Resettlement Village at Myitsone Hydropower Project (HPP) to Open a New Page for Employment in Resettlement Village


On March 6, SPIC, together with Aung Myin Thar Resettlement Village Committee at Myitsone HPP, held the opening ceremony for skill training in Aung Myin Thar Resettlement Village. This training course was attended by 40 young and middle-aged people from the Resettlement Village for training of carpentry and masonry works and lasted for 23 days, where the skill training of carpentry and masonry works on trainees was conducted both via theoretical teaching and in-field training.

SPIC cooperated with relevant skill training agencies in Yangon to jointly hold the first skill training course in the Resettlement Village to improve the skill levels, effectively solve the employment issues, improve the living standards and realize the sustainable development in the Resettlement Village.

The village head, members of village committee, persons in charge of KBC etc. of Aung Myin Thar Resettlement Village attended the opening ceremony as guests. On the ceremony, each of the head of Aung Myin Thar Resettlement Village, teachers’ representative and students’ representative delivered a speech respectively, expressed their thanks to SPIC for this training course and encouraged the villagers to cherish this training opportunity and try to master the skills to be trained and improve their living standards on their own.
