Gifts of Roses, Hand There are Lingering Fragrances; Dedication of Love, Harvest of Hope - Donations of 5,000 Sets of Panda Book Bags and School Suppl


On January 24, ACHC, together with China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation (CFPA), held a ceremony of donating panda book bags and school supplies to students of Grade 1~4 in Kachin State at No. 9 Middle School in Myitkyina, Kachin State. Li Xiaoyan, the Minister-counselor of Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, U Sai Sein Lin, the head of Division of the Shan People Affairs of the Government of Kachin State (taking charge of the social affairs), U Yaw Na, the Independent Senator of Union Parliament of Myanmar, Daw Khin Than Nwe, the head of the Department of Education of Kachin State, U Zaw Win, the Senator of the Kachin State Parliament, U San Wai, the chairman of the Committee of the Shan People Affairs, Wu Ah Kyi Da Wu, the secretary general of the Central Committee of Lisu Literature and Culture, U.Ahclce WaYeZi, the secretary general of the Committee of Christianity of Myanmar and other government officials, parliamentarians, national and religious leaders, representatives of principals of schools and students (500 people in total) attended this ceremony.

During this ceremony, Li Xiaoyan, the Minister-counselor of Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Zhao Laipu, the deputy generator manager of ACHC, and U Soe Moe Maung, the person in charge of CFPA from Myanmar side, successively denoted book bags to students’ representatives and encouraged the students to study hard. The 5,000 sets of panda book bags and school supplies (worth 114 million Kyat) would be successively distributed to the students of 56 schools in remote districts and towns such as Putao, Shaolao, Chipwi, Hpakant, Moe Ning, Moe Kaung in Kachin State. U Sai Sein Lin, the head of Division of the Shan People Affairs of the Government of Kachin State (taking charge of the social affairs), said in his speech that China and Myanmar were neighbors with profound friendship. Currently, book exhibition was being held all over Myanmar for children to grow up happily. The book bags donated by SPIC and CFPA to students of grades 1~4 would further encourage the students to study hard and serve the country. Daw Khin Than Nwe, the head of the Department of Education of Kachin State, also said that the book bags and school supplies donated by SPIC and CFPA to students, orphans and refugee students in remote regions indicated the sowing of seeds of love and friendship, and would certainly bear rich fruits.

In recent years, ACHC successively cooperated with Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to invest 1 billion Kyat in Myitkyina region to build four “China-Myanmar Friendship Schools”, so that more than one thousand local students can study in spacious and bright classrooms. Moreover, ACHC carried out a lot of social responsibility activities and social activities for public good like repairing of schools, new constructions of school premises, scholarship distributions and orphanage assistances in Kachin State, and invested more than 550 million Kyat in total in education business, indicating that ACHC was trying to show its warmth and love to improve school conditions and help children grow up healthily and strongly. In the future, ACHC will keep increasing investment in education business in Kachin State, to actively fulfill the purpose of “dedicating to eco-friendly energy sources and serving the public”, to pass down the friendship between China-Myanmar people from generation to generation.
