On November 12, the Ground-breaking Ceremony of Lisu Chinese Language Training School was held in the Lisu Traditional Cultural Square of Myitkyina. Leaders of the ACHC, Lisu Nationality and Religion were invited to attend the ceremony.

At the Ceremony, U Ar Phu Yee Li Me, Chairman of Lisu Literature and Cultural Central Committee said that with the help of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and ACHC, the Lisu Nationality’s dream of building a Chinese training school has finally come true, which gives young people of the Lisu Nationality a channel to learn Chinese language and culture, as well as understand China, and broadens the bridge of Sino-Myanmar friendship. Dr. Wa Yae Si, Chairman of the Myanmar Council of Churches also mentioned that the Lisu Nationality and many other ethnic minorities of Myanmar have close blood ties with Chinese nation. We will work hard to maintain the hard-earned “Sino-Myanmar Friendship” and pray for the success of ACHC in its various undertakings in Myanmar.

In recent years, in order to improve the cultural and educational level of local minority young students, ACHC has fully assisted the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to build the dormitory building of Grace Happy Land and the school of Love Orphan Center successively in the Myitkyina area and newly construct the canteens as well as the color steel classrooms of Chinese Language Training School of Myitkyina College. All these schools are named as the “Sino-Myanmarnese Friendship Schools”. Lisu Chinese Language Training School, which is under construction, is the fourth “Sino-Myanmar Friendship School” in the Myitkyina area. After the completion of the teaching building, it will accommodate 200 students and become an important base for language and professional technical training for young people of the Lisu nationality, so as to better serve the local economic and social development of Kachin State.
